The Kroto Innovation Centre is a £2M incubator facility, delivering technology acceleration, innovation and incubation programmes to start-up and existing businesses.

It is at the heart of North Campus - one of Europe's largest multidisciplinary research facilities - and keeps Sheffield at the forefront of research in emerging technologies, nanotechnology, and the convergence of the physical and biological sciences.

30th anniversary

EPSRC

2009 marks the 30th anniversary of the founding of the EPSRC National Centre for IIIV Technologies at Sheffield. The Centre has grown considerably from very modest facilities. It acts as a centre of excellence, with its primary role to supply a wide range of well characterised, state-of-the-art III-V epitaxial layers and a comprehensive range of prototype device fabrication services.
